Continuity |ˌkäntnˈ(y)oōətē| noun ( pl. -ties)

continuity |ˌkäntnˈ(y)oōətē| noun ( pl. -ties)

the maintenance of continuous action and self-consistent detail in the various scenes of a movie or broadcast : [as adj. ] a continuity error.

Episode 11 -Volcano
1:50 Johnny-Johnny stands next to clock 9:41
2:30 Johnny-Johnny stands next to clock 12:07

By the Way, at the end of the episode at 4:49 Lala clearly throws her straw away but one second later it is in the shot with Johnny-Johnny and then a moment later she is drinking with it.

Guys lose their union cards for less than that. Ouch.

It has always been there. They are just careful not to show that direction as it is the bedroom of the apartment.

Continuity problems? You want continuity problems? How about in Episode 8 (London Fogcutter), where the whole universe seems to invert its axis? If you look at the initial introduction of the Duke, when he is conversing with the good doctor, the footage is left-right reversed (check out where the bar is relative to the shelf of tikis behind the Duke, look at how the Duke's vest is buttoned right-over-left, instead of left-over-right, and see how the Duke and the doctor appear to shake left-handed).

I've asked Johnny Johnny about this, and he has promised to explain why this was done on the TikiBarTV forum.

I'm 100% certain that JJ wasn't present with the others for the shooting of the volcano show. This has happened in a couple other episodes as well (Fog Cutter, I think). The change of the time on the clock is a result of the composite by which he was inserted into the shot with the others. You'll notice that most of the other shots of JJ in Volcano are solo MCUs. The shot of Rocket Billy, while dramatically low-angled, uses the powerful geometry of the bartop to hide the fact that JJ isn't in the shot, as you'd expect. When Billy crosses in front of JJ with the mailpouch, we see only an obscure dark figure.

The party vibe is a little deeper when they're all present at the same shoot, but technique can excuse a multitude of sins.

Listen, Dr. Tiki is an EXPERIENCED filmmaker... Don't be fooled by his youth. These guys are brilliant with a capital B. If anyone in broadcast television has arrived with such promise since Monty Python, I missed it. Even if Lala marries a billionaire and loses interest, these people are GOING PLACES.

Also-

Lala wasn't present for the whistling part of the interlude, and the Hor(n)stein might have done the pirate self-mutilation with no one else in the Bar.

Even so, it's one of the best episodes... And that's one to think about.
